the art of canvas

Discover how the floating canvas breathes life into every bespoke jacket

bespoke jacket architecture

A bespoke jacket lives from the inside out. At its heart lies a floating canvas  layers of natural materials hand-shaped and pad-stitched to give the coat its chest, its lapel roll, and its quiet authority. Unlike fused interlinings, a true canvas moves with you, breathes with you, and improves with age.

What is a floating canvas

A floating canvas is a free-hanging internal structure made from natural components such as wool canvas, haircloth, domette, and felt. It runs from the shoulder through the chest and into the lapels. Because it is never glued, the cloth can drape naturally while the canvas provides shape, balance, and resilience.

Why it matters

the difference between a fused suit and a full canvas suit is profound

A true bespoke canvas is not about fashion, but about permanence. It is the reason a well-made bespoke jacket can last for decades.
